For anyone still having issues, make sure that if you're using vortex you enable the racemenu plugins in the plugin section for vortex. Do that making sure you're running race menu 4-14 alongside the VR patch, remove the skee64.ini/dll from the folder and it should work. This is what I did to got it to work.

However, if you use Racemenu to change your Race, it will break your perks. So, using Racemenu is fine as long as you don't use it to change your race. If you WANT to change your race, use a console command first. Player.SetRace NordRace. Run that command first, THEN go into RaceMenu and customize it. It'll be fine.
